Based in Fort Bend County, Texas, Karthik Marupeddi is a Senior Software Engineer at TIGA, The Integration Group of Americas, a renowned systems integration and engineering services company. Originally from India, he moved to the United States 15 years ago to pursue higher education, earning his Master’s degree.

Karthik Marupeddi's Work with TIGA

Marupeddi joined TIGA in 2019 and has since been responsible for designing and developing the IOps software. This software integrates existing SCADA systems, allowing end users to efficiently manage oil and gas assets from virtually any device. He also designed and developed a portfolio vertical for Messenger+, enabling it to forecast scheduling, capacity, location, and segment-related challenges for customers based on primary input into the system. Furthermore, he developed the user interface (UI) using open-source technologies like Angular, Yarn, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and material design.

In addition to his work on IOps and Messenger+, he contributed to developing UI components as services, such as notifications and confirmation pop-ups. He also created a model for search functionalities that expedited development, improving the overall efficiency of many applications within the organization.

Career Trajectory

After completing his Master’s degree, Marupeddi began his professional career as a Software Developer at Verizon Business in Richardson, Texas, where he worked for two years. His first project involved creating a web-based application for clients to manage their Verizon Business services online. His responsibilities included designing user interfaces, developing code to handle XML data, and designing core functionalities using Struts, Hibernate, and JavaScript. He also performed health checks on applications in production to ensure smooth operations.

Marupeddi's other significant project at Verizon Business was with its E-Bonding web application. This platform-independent application allowed Verizon customers to generate orders and trouble tickets and proactively and reactively manage inventory. His expertise in web services and data processing came into play here, where he developed web services using JWS JBoss Annotations, implemented code to read XML data, and created Java interfaces for the services in the business layer.

Following his time at Verizon, Marupeddi worked as a Java Developer for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare for three years. During his tenure, he worked on various applications such as IBES, e-Verify, SVES/SOLQI, and Idalink. These applications utilized agile and scrum methodologies and were designed to process crucial state data, including eligibility determinations for public assistance programs.

After completing his project with the state of Idaho, Marupeddi spent five years working as a Software Engineer at ABB, based in Sugarland, Texas. He worked on the nMarket Suite, a comprehensive transaction management platform for bidding, position management, scheduling, dispatch, settlement, and reporting.

Academic Background

Marupeddi graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Science Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2008. He earned a full tuition scholarship and stipend for his final two semesters as a Graduate Assistant.

Before his Master’s degree, Marupeddi earned his Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Electronic, and Communication Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, India, in 2005.

He also holds various certifications for Angular 2 Essential Training and Learn AngularJS 2: The Basics. Additionally, Marupeddi is a certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance and has obtained Java Programmer and Business Component Developer certifications from Sun Microsystems.

Personal Life

Karthik Marupeddi is married to Sravani Rampay, and they have two sons, Eeshan and Ayaan. The family attends Shirdi Sai Jalaram Mandir, a Hindu temple, where they also prepare and donate meals.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Marupeddi actively contributes to his community by donating blood to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center whenever needed. As part of the O+ blood group, the most frequently transfused blood type, he donates Double Red Cells or whole blood during emergencies.

Outside of work, he enjoys honing his software engineering skills and engaging in leisure activities such as playing badminton and watching football and basketball. He enjoys the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and the NBA’s Houston Rockets. In his spare time, he also follows the Indian national cricket team.
